Workout? An hour a day? REALLY?

We all want to look good, right? Why in the world does it have to be so hard? I just want to eat cake and not worry about it going to my thighs. Every time I open a magazine I have think "airbrush"! Seriously, no one has a perfect body. And who has an hour a day or the money to spend on the gym or trainers? That is why I love Tabatas!
Tabatas, also called HIIT (high intensity interval training), are an insane workout that is not doctor recommended or endorsed. (just had to put that out there) If you do it right you can become light headed and possibly pass out or puke.  Are you now thinking I'm crazy? If so, you'd be right. :)
Tabatas are a 4 minute workout comprised of 8 intervals of all out hard work for 20 seconds and then breathing in as much air as you can for 10 seconds. I think most people run. When doing this I use a treadmill and set it on as high as I think I can run. I then run for 20 seconds and jump off for 10. I also do one called a full body leanup. It is comprised of burpees, squats, crunches and push ups. If you do this right you will HURT! I mean seriously hurt! But if you're like me, hurting after a workout means you did your body some good. "No pain, no gain" or whatever...
I usually do a quick warm up, either a brick walk on the treadmill or some pilates. I love this because it cost me nothing (my apartments have a gym that has a treadmill I use but you can always go outside to run) and I can easily fit it in a busy schedule. Also, if you have a smart phone there's an APP and its FREE! Just look up Tabata Timer.
